Background
In this exhibition, the eponymous ‘background’ plays the leading role, being ‘foregrounded’, as it were. At the same time, it represents the broader context encompassing the historical, social, cultural, and individual circumstances that impact human and non-human entities. In this way, the background – being a mere part of a represented reality – also encapsulates a depiction of that reality as a whole.
MOCAK
Food in Art
Food in At is the 11th exhibition in MOCAK’s flagship series Civilisation in Art, in which we confront important areas of life with the reflections of artists. Food in this context has an exceptional position, since it is crucial to existence itself, which lends it significance in many areas of our lives.
